Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Maginote ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. We reserve the right to update these terms at any time — the effective date above will reflect when changes were last made.

Description of Service

Maginote is a personal note-taking web application. It allows users to:

• Create, edit, and delete notes with rich text formatting
• Organize notes into folders with keyword or AI-powered suggestions
• Import existing .txt files in bulk
• View notes grouped automatically by month

The Service is provided as-is and may be updated, modified, or discontinued at any time.

Account & Authentication

Access to Maginote requires creating an account with a valid email address and password. By registering, you confirm that:

• The information you provide is accurate and belongs to you
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
• You will keep your password secure and not share your account

Acceptable Use

You agree to use Maginote only for lawful purposes. You must not:

• Store, share, or process illegal content of any kind
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' data or the underlying server
• Use automated tools or bots to interact with the Service without permission
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Service
• Use the Service in any way that could damage or impair its operation

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms without prior notice.

Your Content

You retain full ownership of all notes and content you create. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store and display your content solely to provide the Service to you.

• We do not claim ownership of your notes
• We do not sell, share, or use your note content for any purpose other than operating the Service
• You are solely responsible for the content of your notes

AI Features & API Key

Maginote supports an optional AI folder suggestion feature powered by Anthropic's Claude API. To use it, you must supply your own Anthropic API key via Settings. When active:

• Your note title and up to 600 characters of content are sent to Anthropic's API per suggestion
• This transmission is governed by Anthropic's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
• You are responsible for any API costs incurred under your own Anthropic account
• You may remove your API key at any time from Settings; this disables AI and reverts to keyword matching

Data & Availability

Maginote stores your data on shared hosting infrastructure. While we take reasonable care:

• We do not guarantee 100% uptime or uninterrupted service availability
• We strongly encourage you to keep your own backups of important notes
• We are not liable for loss of data due to server failure, accidental deletion, or any other cause

Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Maginote and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including loss of data.

Termination

You may stop using Maginote and delete your account at any time via Settings → Danger Zone. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access for violations of these Terms, with or without notice.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts located in India.
